about

Following on from their well received ‘ Moonlight Shift’ EP , Cologne based duo Hidden Sequence return to Mosaic with a fresh selection of dubbed out goodness on the fifth DTL release: ‘Subatomic Frequencies.’

From the opening chords of ‘Microverse’ the duo lay down their intent to gently draw you in and revel in warm hypnosis. As softly shuffling rhythms guide you to a gentle sway, washes of strings move ever forward to a rolling bottom end , all wrapped together in layers of deep reverberation and splashes of modulating effects.

Bringing you back to surface, the steady kick and dubbed out stabs of ‘After The Rain’ are a perfect compliment for feet and hips as they find symmetry in movement .This is simply minimalist dancefloor dub at its best, designed for both early mornings and late nights .

Last but not least, label boss Steve O’Sullivan works his touch to the cavernous sounding ‘Synpase’ on this exclusive ‘Bluetrain special edition dub’ of a so far unreleased track by the duo. Deeper than deep, he fills the airwaves with a towering bassline, shuffling percussion and dubbed elements mixed with muted vocal samples. Almost bringing time to a standstill, it’s the kind of meditative inflection we all could use a little bit more of in these times.
